Details and download information on NVIDIA’s latest GeForce drivers
Want to download drivers for your NVIDIA GeForce GPU without installing NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience application? NVIDIA GeForce doesn’t make them easy to find, but you can do it. Here’s how to avoid GeForce Experience on Windows. This is the latest version of these drivers available for most NVIDIA-based video cards.
This is the final, WHQL version of these drivers and replaces all previously available drivers. You should install v465.89 if you have a supported NVIDIA GPU running any previous driver release.
Game Ready Drivers provide the best possible gaming experience for all major new releases, including Virtual Reality games. Prior to a new title launching, our driver team is working up until the last minute to ensure every performance tweak and bug fix is included for the best gameplay on day-1.
Before downloading this driver:
It is recommended that you backup your current system configuration. Click here for instructions.
Note to 32-bit Windows users: Beginning with the release of driver version 390, Nvidia will not be releasing any more drivers with support for 32-bit operating systems. Both Windows and Linux users will be required to upgrade to a 64-bit system should they wish to use the most up-to-date drivers available.
What’s New:
Game Ready
- Outriders
- DiRT 5 raytracing
- Evil Genius 2: World Domination
- Kingdom Hearts
Gaming Technology
- Includes support for Resizable BAR across the GeForce RTX 30 Series of Desktop and Notebook GPUs
- Includes beta support for virtualization on GeForce GPUs
Application Profiles
- Shenmue III (NVIDIA Turing GPUs only)
- The Medium (NVIDIA Turing GPUs only)
Other Changes
- Added support for extended DP-to-HDMI 2.1 PCON clock frequency range to better support 8K TVs.
- Changed the G-SYNC on-screen status indicator to be less obtrusive.
OpenCL 3.0
- Added support for OpenCL 3.02, the latest major version of OpenCL maintaining backward compatibility with OpenCL 1.2. NVIDIA OpenCL 3.0 continues to support existing OpenCL 1.2 functionality as well as Khronos and vendor extensions that are already supported with NVIDIA OpenCL 1.2 drivers.
- The following new features beyond existing NVIDIA OpenCL 1.2 features are supported by NVIDIA OpenCL 3.0
- RGBA vector component naming in OpenCL C kernels
- pragma_unroll hint
- opencl_3d_image_writes
- clCreate*WithProperties APIs which can be used as replacement for existing
- CreateBuffer/Image APIs.
- clSetContextDestructorCallback
- clCloneKernel from OpenCL 2.1
- clEnqueueSVMMigrateMem from OpenCL 2.1
- Incorporates the following experimental 2.0 features:
- Device side enqueue
- The current implementation is limited to 64-bit platforms only.
- OpenCL 2.0 allows kernels to be enqueued with global_work_size larger than the compute capability of the NVIDIA GPU. The current implementation supports only combinations of global_work_size and local_work_size that are within the compute capability of the NVIDIA GPU. For a given grid dimension, the global_work_size can be determined by CUDA grid size x CUDA block size. For executing kernels (whether from the host or the device), OpenCL 2.0 supports nonuniform ND-ranges where global_work_size does not need to be divisible by the local_work_size. This capability is not yet supported in the NVIDIA driver, and therefore not supported for device side kernel enqueues.
- Shared virtual memory
- The current implementation of shared virtual memory is limited to 64-bit platforms only.
OpenCL 3.0 Known Issues
- Device-Side-Enqueue related queries may return 0 values, although corresponding built-ins can be safely used by kernel.
- This is in accordance with conformance requirements described at https://www.khronos.org/registry/OpenCL/specs/3.0-unified/html/OpenCL_API.html#opencl-3.0-backwardscompatibility
- The denorms that were flushed to zero by default when cl-fast-relaxed-math on OpenCL 1.2 drivers won’t be flushed to zero with OpenCL 3.0 driver by default.

Download NVIDIA Video Card Drivers v465.89
Most NVIDIA GeForce; NVIDIA GPUs are fully supported with the v465.89 driver in most current versions of Windows, which might include Windows 10, Windows 8 (including Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Update), or Windows 7.
The easiest way to get the right driver for your device is through NVIDIA GeForce; GeForce Experience. Head over to the GeForce Drivers page and select DOWNLOAD NOW to get it. Going that route, you don’t need to know whether to click the 32-bit or 64-bit links below.
Sometimes, NVIDIA will release an update for only one operating system, like just 64-bit versions of Windows 10. Others typically follow within a few weeks.
The following downloads are for Desktop GPUs ONLY. These are the NVIDIA drivers you need if you have an ION/ION LE or GeForce GPU installed in your desktop computer.
These downloads are for Notebook GPUs ONLY. These are the NVIDIA drivers you need if your laptop, netbook, notebook, or tablet is powered by an NVIDIA ION/ION LE or GeForce GPU.
NVIDIA GeForce; NVIDIA supports Windows Vista and Windows XP less and less with each new GPU and driver release. However, they do support many GPUs on Windows Vista and XP with their v365.19 (Vista) and v368.81 (XP) drivers, the newest drivers available for those versions of Windows.
You can download the Windows Vista 64-bit driver here or the 32-bit driver here.
You can download the Windows XP 64-bit driver here or the 32-bit driver here.
These drivers are only designed for desktop GPUs but you may have luck getting them to work on your notebook or laptop PC. If not, check with your computer maker for better drivers or with NVIDIA for an older release.
Other NVIDIA Drivers
Other downloads like NVIDIA GeForce; nForce drivers, GeForce drivers for non-Windows operating systems, previous driver releases, and much more, can be found on the GeForce Drivers page.
If you’re using a relatively recent version of NVIDIA’s GeForce drivers, just right-click on the NVIDIA GeForce; NVIDIA icon in the system tray and choose Check for updates. You can download and install the driver automatically from there. If you want to be prompted for beta driver updates, be sure to check the appropriate box in the Preferences tab.
If you’re looking for an up-to-date resource on new drivers, see our Windows 10 Drivers, Windows 8 Drivers, or Windows 7 Drivers lists. We keep those pages updated with information and links to new drivers available from NVIDIA and other major hardware makers.
Other Ways to Get New NVIDIA Drivers
NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience can be installed to detect NVIDIA drivers that need to be installed. This makes it very easy to not only know when the drivers need to be updated but also where, exactly, to get the updates—the program will do it for you.
Another automatic way to download and install NVIDIA drivers is a free driver updater tool.
Even though downloading drivers straight from the manufacturer is always preferred, you can instead go through a third-party. See these driver download websites for some examples.
Having Trouble With These New NVIDIA Drivers?
A good first step if your newly installed NVIDIA drivers don’t work is to uninstall the NVIDIA installation package that you just ran and then reinstall it. You can do this from the appropriate applet in Control Panel.
If you can’t reinstall the NVIDIA GeForce; NVIDIA package for some reason, try rolling back the driver, also something you do from Control Panel. See How to Roll Back a Driver for detailed instructions in all versions of Windows.
