Google Pixel 2 is an upcoming smartphone by Google. The phone is rumoured to come with a 4.97-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. The new Pixel could have squeezable sides, Waterproof design, Google could be planning a host of new color options with playful names, to be water and dust resistant. It is expected to be either IP67 or IP68 rated, meaning it will survive being submerged in 1 to 1.5 meters of water for a period of 30 minutes.
The Google Pixel 2 is expected to be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and come with 4GB of RAM. The phone is rumoured to pack 32GB of internal storage cannot be expanded. There’s no denying that Google has played it safe, as the devices look quite generic, despite that little glass window on the back. The LG-made 2017 Pixel XL, however, looks like an entirely different story.
The Google Pixel 2 is rumoured to run Android 8.0. What’s interesting is that the Pixel 2 is said to feature two front-facing stereo speakers, which is more than a welcome addition. Unfortunately, it will come at the expense of the 3.5 mm headphone jack. This means you’ll have to plug in your headphones with the help of an adapter that will likely come included in the box.
The Google Pixel 2 tipped to be a single SIM (GSM) smartphone that will accept a Nano-SIM. Connectivity options are said to include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, Headphones, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone are rumoured to include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor.
The bezels on the front of the handset have been minimized above and below the display, the signature glass panel on the back has been revamped so it’s far less offensive, and the overall look of the devices is much sleeker than last year’s models. Long story short, Google can’t launch this thing soon enough.
