If you aren’t using this app, you can disable it in two ways
If you set up Samsung Pay, but no longer need or use it, disable Samsung Pay by removing your cards or uninstalling the app.
How to Remove Credit or Debit Cards From Samsung Pay
One way to disable Samsung Pay is to remove any credit or debit cards connected to your account. Samsung Pay will still be available, but without cards connected to the account, you won’t be able to use it. You can always reconnect your cards to Samsung Pay if you need the service later.
-
Open the Samsung Pay app.
-
On the upper-left corner of the screen, tap the three-stripe menu icon.
In some versions of Samsung Pay, tap the Cards icon on the main screen after launching the app.
-
Tap Cards.
-
Choose the cards you wish to delete. You can choose one at a time.
-
Select Delete card.
-
When the confirmation pop-up appears, select Delete.
- Repeat Steps 4 through 6 until you’ve deleted all your debit and credit cards from Samsung Pay.
How to Uninstall, Disable Samsung Pay
The uninstall option is ideal if you have no intention of using Samsung Pay in the future. Uninstalling the Samsung Pay app also erases your banking information from the service. You can download and set up Samsung Pay again whenever you need to.
-
Go to Settings > Apps > Samsung Pay.
-
Tap Uninstall.
-
When the confirmation pop-up appears, tap OK.
With the app completely uninstalled, you can install a different contactless payment app like Google Pay. You could also swipe down the Quick Settings and toggle off NFC if you don’t intend to use a payments app and don’t want the sensor left to be triggered by some random tag. You can also long-press the Samsung Pay app icon in the app drawer to open a quick menu, which includes an uninstall option.
